THE petroleum policy has recently been announced. On reading it, I found that it was about dealing with incentives for local and foreign investors for boosting exploration activities in the oil and gas sector in the country.
It means that the policy mainly deals with boosting oil and gas production. It apparently has nothing to do with how to use oil and gas produced in a manner to extract maximum benefits with minimum possible consumption.
The ministry of petroleum and natural resources should come out with a fuel policy. This is direly needed in view of increase in POL prices almost every month, with or without any justification whatsoever.
