ATTOCK: Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif said on Wednesday that he has dedicated his life to Pakistan. He also criticiced the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leadership for not fulfilling their duties, DawnNews reported
Addressing a public rally in Attock, Sharif said “no doubt PPP had formed the government by majority votes but it has betrayed the people by not delivering what it was supposed to.”
Sharif claimed that his party had no role in bringing the PPP in the government in the last general elections.
He further claimed that the PML-N did not support Asif Ali Zardari for becoming the president of the country.
Referring to the recent Nato summit in Chicago, the PML-N chief said that US president Barack Obama did not even want to meet President Zardari.
Love for Attock
The PML-N chief said that he has a special love for the people of Attock. “Today I have not come here to ask for votes; rather I am here to pay gratitude to the people of Attock who had treated me well during my time in the prison,” said Sharif.
“I will always serve the nation, whether I am in the government or not,” he added.
Bashing Musharraf
Reminiscing over his past, Sharif claimed that he did not succumbed in front of Pervez Musharraf and the former president kept him in the prison for his defiance.
Criticising Musharraf’s support for the United States on the war on terror in 2001, Sharif said that the former president was shaken by the first phone call of the US Seceratary of State and instantly yielded to US demands.
