PESHAWAR, May 22: Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has said that the size of Annual Development Programme (ADP) for coming fiscal year 2012-13 will be according to the needs of people, reflecting stability of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s economy.

He said this on Tuesday while chairing a consultative meeting in connection with drafting of provincial budget 2012-13. The chief minister said that investment in production sector and completion of ongoing and near-completion schemes would remain priority of the government.

Senior minister Rahim Dad Khan, finance minister Hamayun Khan, chief secretary Ghulam Dastagir, secretary finance Sahibzada Saeed, secretary planning and development Saleem Khan, secretary works and services Zahid Arif and other relevant officers of planning and finance departments attended the meeting.

Matters pertaining to allocation of funds to different departments also came under discussion besides review of funds allocation to ongoing schemes. The chief minister stressed for one-time release of funds to schemes, which were likely to be completed this year so that people could benefit from development. Mr Hoti said that instead of launching new schemes, the government would focus on improvement of existing facilities and timely completion of ongoing schemes. He said that giving preference to ongoing projects and need-based allocation of funds for new projects would be in the best interest of people. — Bureau Report
