ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik has warned the PML-N against trying to create an atmosphere against democracy in Pakistan.

He further said that PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif should not act like a police officer with threatening language.

Malik was speaking to the media persons after assessing security arrangements upon the arrival of Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan.

Malik advised the Chief Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif to work for the betterment of governance in the province rather than speaking in a irresponsible manner.

Rehman Malik said that he was severely criticised when he pointed out the rising extremism in Swat, Malakand and southern Punjab and now Shahbaz Sharif has also warned about the rise of extremism in southern Punjab.

He said that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has launched a phase of progress in southern Punjab which declined extremism as a result.

The interior minister also assured that tight security measures were being made for the Turkish prime minister and his speech to the Parliament.
