ISLAMABAD, Dec 11: The president on Wednesday amended the Civil Servants Act 1973, empowering the Federal Public Service Commission to “test” any person who was appointed on any post without following the required qualification.
The Ordinance called the Civil Servants (Amendment) Ordinance 2002, added a new section in the law, providing that where it is brought to notice of the appointing authority that appointment of a person to civil post was made without observing the prescribed procedure or without fulfilling the prescribed qualification, experience and age limit, it may send a reference to the FPSC for determination whether he is fit to hold the post to which he was appointed.—Staff Reporter
