‘LJ man’ held in Sohrab Goth

KARACHI, May 16: Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested an alleged militant of the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and recovered explosives and illicit weapons from his possession.

CID SP Fayyaz Khan said that a police team carried out a raid at Sohrab Goth bus stop on Superhighway and arrested Nawaz Khan alias Shah Jee.

He said that the suspect was allegedly affiliated with the banned LJ and five-kilogram explosive material, three detonators, seven meters of detonating wires and a TT pistol were recovered from him.

He said that during interrogations, he disclosed that the recovered explosive material was being shifted to Karachi from Waziristan. The suspect was also involved in the attacks on the FC and other forces in the tribal areas.
