LAHORE: The training camp for Pakistan’s One-day International and Twenty20 squads for the tour of Sri Lanka is set to begin on Tuesday.
The members of both squads will report to the manager of the training camp which will come to an end on May 19.
Acording to the schedule, the two teams will play a 50-over match on May 20 before a T20 game two days later. After a day’s rest on May 23 the players will be back in action, playing back-to-back T20 matches on May 24 and 25.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will host a grand reception in the honour of the team on May 26 where incentives for the Asia Cup winning team are likely to be announced. Pakistan won the continental competition in March but the PCB is yet to honour the team.
The PCB has also failed to announce the central contracts for the players — an issue that has been due since January 1.
On May 27, the players will go through a fitness test before departing for Sri Lanka via Dubai where they will play two T20 Internationals and five ODI’s before a three Test series against the hosts.
The national selection committee had announced separate teams for the three formats of the game. Mohammad Hafeez will lead the team in the T20s while Misbah-ul-Haq will be captaining the side in the ODIs and Tests.
