TAXILA, May 13: In order to avoid clash of institutions, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani should step down as it would not be a big sacrifice for the ruling party to avoid the collapse of democratic system.

Chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman said this while talking to newsmen in Wah Cantt on Saturday evening after a dinner hosted in his honour by the party workers.

He said the prime minister had become controversial and now it was for the ruling party to take a decision about his fate. He warned the government against restoring Nato supplies, saying there should be no resumption of supplies through the air or land route. —Correspondent
