Nine injured in firing on van

PARACHINAR, May 6: Nine people, among them three women, were injured on Sunday when terrorists attacked their van on the main Thall-Parachinar highway in the lawless Kurram Agency.

The vehicle was going to Peshawar from Parachinar when terrorists in a car opened fire on it near the Sakhi Ahmad village in Lower Kurram.

However, the van driver kept his cool and accelerated, getting away from terrorists and thus saving other passengers from harm. The injured passengers were brought to a state-run hospital in Alizai town.

Later, the highway was cleared for traffic. Investigation into the incident was under way.
