LAHORE, May 5: Fine batting by Imran Farhat, Nasir Jamshed, Misbah-ul-Haq and Muhammad Yousuf helped Shining Club beat Model Town Club by 92 runs in the final to win the Nazar Mohammad Memorial Tournament at the LCCA ground here on Saturday.

Imran Farhat and Nasir Jamshed laid strong foundation by providing an opening stand of 175 runs as Shining Club earned an imposing total of 294 all out in 45 overs.

Imran, who was captaining the Shining Club, led from the front by scoring 96 with 11 fours and two sixes. He received able support from Nasir Jamshed who hit up 71 with the help of six fours and a six.

Later, Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq also made a fluent 48 with two boundaries while Yousuf made 45 with two fours and a six.

Lanky international medium-pacer Muhammad Irfan took four wickets for 35.

In reply, five-wicket haul by left-arm spinner Abdul Waheed dented Model Town Club hopes of a victory and they were bowled out for 202 in 39 overs with Test cricketers Azhar Ali (80) and Muhammad Hafeez (48) being the prominent scorers.

Later, LCCA President Khawaja Nadeem gave away a cheque of Rs 50,000 to Shining Club for winning the title. The Model Town Club received Rs. 25,000.

Pakistan head coach Dav Whatmore also witnessed the final with keen interest as the team selection for the upcoming Sri Lanka series nears.
