ZURICH, May 3: Switzer-land must shed its role as a bank haven for tax cheats and end disputes with foreign tax authorities, the chairman of the country’s biggest bank UBS said on Thursday.

“Switzerland ought not to be a financial centre for tax evaders. The financial sector cannot become involved in tax crimes,” said Kaspar Villiger, chairman of the board at UBS, in prepared remarks for the bank’s annual general meeting.—AFP
