ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said that the governments of Pakistan People’s Party  (PPP) have always pushed the country in economic turmoil, DawnNews reported.

Addressing a dinner party hosted by Islamabad chamber of commerce, Sharif said that PML-N’s economic team is working on the plan of economic recovery of the country.

Critcising Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Sharif said that the prime minister has been convicted but he is not willing to step down.

He said that the present government, rather than giving relief to people, has been busy in ridiculing the judiciary.

Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif , who was also present at the dinner, said that the government cannot cover up its corruption by hiding behind the issue of Seraiki province.

Earlier today, speaking with media representatives after Pakistan-India trade seminar, the chief minister said that people who are talking about creating new provinces, should have restored the provincial status of Bahawalpur first.

Speaking about India-Pakistan trade ties, Shahbaz Sharif said that bilateral trade between the two countries is in their mutual interest.
