Acting chairman of the JSQM, Dr Niaz Kalani said that the strike call had been made to protest against the ‘unjust’ operation in Lyari which he said was directed against the natives of Lyari.

Chairman STPP Dr Qadir Magsi said that his party would participate in the strike. He added that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government has broken all records of insensitivity and oppression.
