Four killed as gunmen open fire on car

PESHAWAR, April 22: Unidentified gunmen on Sunday opened fire on a car, which was going from Peshawar to Adezai village, killing four persons, including two brothers. The incident occurred in the limits of Mattani police station.

The deceased were identified as Said Noor and Habib Noor, the two brothers and Jamshid and Naeem. Officials of the Mattani police told Dawn that the relatives of the slain persons had not charged anyone in the FIR.

Separately, a cab driver was killed by unknown persons on Sunday in the limit of Badhber police station. According to police Yousaf was found shot dead in his cab. He had bullet injuries on different parts of his body. Shah Wali, brother of the driver, told police they had no enmity with anyone.

In another incident, robbers shot dead a constable of the Pakistan Railways police in the limits of Pahari Pura police station. According to the FIR, the deceased was identified as Sajad. Police said Sajad was shot dead by six robbers riding three motorcycles at Budhni bridge near Haji Camp, after he refused to give them money.

Similarly, a man killed his wife and her niece over a family dispute in the limits of Faqirabad police station. The slain women were traveling in a rickshaw when they were attacked by Afeel on Ithihad road, police said. Afeel is resident of Hangu district, who had come to meet his relatives in Faqirabad.

Meanwhile, a clinic was damaged when two bombs went off in Salmankhel village in the limits of Badhber police station. Police said militants had planted two bombs outside the doors of the clinic of Dr Misal Khan.
