PM asks son to return for investigations

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani Wednesday asked his son Ali Musa Gilani to cut short his visit to South Africa and return to Pakistan for investigations, the Prime Minister House said.

The Supreme Court had directed Musa Gilani to appear before it, as part of the ongoing investigations regarding the import of controlled substance ‘ephedrine’ and the subsequent attempts to hush up an inquiry into the matter.

Ephedrine, which is commonly known as poor man’s cocaine, is a chemical also used in the manufacturing of medicines for common cold, flu and asthma.

Musa Gilani was linked to the controversy when the name of Tauqir Ahmed Khan surfaced during the investigation. Khan said he was personal secretary to Musa Gilani and got the out-of-turn quota approved by the health ministry against rules and regulations.
