Yes, our very own Mohsin Hamid’s book, The Reluctant Fundamentalist, has now been made into a film directed by Mira Nair. She’s the one who’s helmed classics like Salam Bombay and The Namesake. News is that the very beautiful Hollywood star Kate Hudson (daughter of the one and only Goldie Hawn) who stars in the film alongside Riz Ahmed and Kiefer Sutherland, will soon be visiting Mumbai as part of the promotion gig for the film.
Hmm… since the writer on whose book the film is based is from Pakistan, why is the film crew reluctant to come to Karachi or Lahore? Let’s leave the matter to the Pakistan Cricket Board, if you know what I mean.
