ISLAMABAD, April 11: The ministry of water and power set up on Wednesday a cell to monitor load management, daily power generation and demand and supply position, and issued directives for compliance of decisions taken at the second national energy conference.

A handout of the ministry said that in pursuance of the decisions taken at the conference, an equitable load management plan was being implemented in all the provinces from Wednesday and instructions had been issued to power distribution companies and other departments concerned in this regard.

The ministry said that uninterrupted power supply was being provided to the industrial sector only in those areas where they had independent industrial feeders. The ministry further said that load management advisory committees had also been set up at the level of power distribution companies having representation of respective provinces to take decisions on load management issues keeping in view the availability of electricity for all sectors.

The government has banned the use of air conditioners for all Grade 19 and below officers to save electricity. To monitor the decision, surprise raids would be conducted, ministry of water and power said.
