Pakistan and India to finalise visa accord soon

NEW DELHI: Pakistan and India have reached an understanding and would soon finalise an agreement under which traders of both countries would be issued multiple-entry visas, DawnNews reported.

Pakistan’s High commission in New Delhi Shahid Malik, while addressing a delegation of Pakistani traders at a function held in their honour, said that President Asif Ali Zardari had reached an understanding with Indian premiere Dr Manmohan Singh on his recent visit to India and that both of them had decided to finalise an agreement on the visa issuance very soon.

Shahid Malik also said that after the accord is finalised, a one-year non-reporting multiple visa would be issued to those traders who would have had their credentials verified by FICCI in India and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) in Pakistan.
