KARACHI, April 9: A fine century by Aziz-ur-Rehman propelled Karachi Asim to an 82-run victory over Karachi CDC in the 14th National Seniors Cup match at the TMC Ground here on Sunday.
Aziz slammed 1218 off just 68 balls with the help of 12 boundaries and five sixes as Karachi Asim reached 262-3 in the allotted 25 overs after winning the toss. Jawwad Ali made an invaluable 63 from 38 deliveries with six boundaries and a brace of sixes.
Karachi CC, in reply, were all out for 180 in 23.4 overs with Iqbal Imam scoring a 60-ball 79 that included eight fours and two sixes. Jawwad Ali excelled with the ball as well as to claim three wickets for 31 runs.
Karachi CDC’s defeat was their second in two days since they had also lost to Karachi Omar by eight wickets at the same venue on Saturday.
The tournament is being organised by the Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA).
