This might excite Pakistani cine-goers. Some young (and not so young) Pakistani filmmakers are trying to revive the film industry. In order for that to happen they’ve chosen Karachi as their cinema hub. According to a report, no less than 10 films are on the anvil. The good thing is that a majority of those who are, or will be, making these films are young people belonging to television. They include the likes of Shamoon Abbasi, Sarmad Khoosat and Bilal Lashari. News is that Zeba Bakhtiar’s son Aazan might also direct a film. If this is true, then rest assured the Pakistan film industry is sure to be resuscitated, reason being that even if these young guns fail to deliver, age is on their side. They won’t be easily dissuaded not to give it a crack again. Way to go guys, show us what you got!
