LAHORE: Expressing that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will ponder giving former chief selector Mohammad Ilyas a suitable post, chairman Zaka Ashraf on Saturday said ex-interim head coach Mohsin Khan will not be considered for any position.

Zaka said this while talking to Dawn after chairing a reception held in the honour of visiting British University Charity XI squad at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) here on Saturday.

“The PCB has tried to contact Mohsin Khan twice to talk with him about future but he could not be contacted. Therefore, later the PCB did not make any attempt [to contact him],” Zaka said.

However, he had good remarks for Ilyas and said that the PCB was considering a suitable job for him, adding it was in contact with the former chief selector.

Mohsin was expecting another role for himself after he had successfully coached the national team to register wins against Sri Lanka, England and Bangladesh as interim head coach.

But the PCB decided to replace him with Dav Whatmore, preferring specialisation policy in picking the coaching staff for the national side.
