KARACHI, April 7: Either of the two stable mate fillies — Rija or Jungle De Malka — whoever on job should lift The Easter Day Cup by making amends when the Gymkhana race meeting takes place at the Karachi Racecourse here on Sunday.

Trained by M. Mazhar, the fillies come in the reckoning in the fifth race, class VI and VII division I to be gone over five furlongs. The race has 10 acceptors.

Both Rija and Jungle De Malka finished on the board in their last outings and experts rate the former to return to winning ways.

The winning horse is likely to be followed by Black Rose and Salman Gold.

Four-year-old bay colt Phenominal is fancied to make amends and land The Red Rose Cup in an earlier race. The colt has finished off the board in his previous five runs this season.

His likely challengers among 10 starters are filly Dream Girl and bay horse Golden Touch.

With a hat-trick under his belt, four-year-old bay colt Rytham is tipped to stretch his winning run should he overcome opponents in the sixth race, which is also the day’s feature event.

Owned by Irfan Mehdi and trained by M. Hanif, Rytham has excelled in the last three runs with M. Yousuf in the saddle.

He is likely to be chased by colt Yes Master in a field of seven horses.

Having placed third in last three outings, Spirit, an unknown pedigree bay colt, should dominate the seventh and concluding race by getting the better of See Me World and Star to Win.

At the outset, mare Sherzad, chestnut horse Dream Prince and colt Godolphin are set to shine in the first three races.

A card of seven races including two cups has been drawn for the day. The first race starts at 1:00pm.
