ISLAMABAD, April 7: Ministry of Housing and Works has constituted a committee to scrutinise old and genuine built-up properties in Sector G-14/3 (village Thalla Syedan).

The committee will finalise the list of genuine affected people after appropriate investigations. A list in this regard has already been prepared which will be reviewed and finalized by the committee.

According to the list, as many as 788 built-up properties covering an area of 181,5485 square feet have been scrutinised and after further verification, the owners of genuine built-up properties will be paid an amount of Rs1095.914 million. However, it will be relevant to mention here that covered area measuring 170,5567 square feet of illegal sheds and structureswas excluded by the scrutiny committee.

The housing ministry is planning to deploy rangers to ensure effective implementation of the award of contract and timely completion of development work for which construction companies have already been short listed.

It is pertinent to mention here that the development work of the sector has been pending for the last many years. But now the ministry has initiated the process to complete the project.
