PESHAWAR, April 7: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance Eng Mohammad Humayun Khan has claimed the PPP is the most popular and democratic of all the political parties and its popularity is rapidly increasing as workers of other political parties are joining it in large numbers. He added the PPP will again come into power with the support of the masses.
He expressed these views while addressing a public gathering at Union Council Agrah, Malakand on Saturday. On this occasion, a renowned political figure of the locality and an active worker of Awami National Party Malik Mashhoor Khan along with his family members and circle of influence announced to join Pakistan Peoples’ Party and assured his full support and affiliation with PPP.
Addressing the gathering, Humayun Khan said that PPP believed in serving the downtrodden segments of the society without any indiscrimination. The great leaders of PPP laid down their lives fighting for the rights and well-being of the poor masses but did not bow before a dictator, he said.
The minister said the great sacrifices rendered by Bhutto family for the people of Pakistan and for the whole Muslim world had been matchless.
Touching upon the achievements of the present government, the provincial minister said, empowerment of the parliament, provincial autonomy, 7th NFC Award, Balochistan package, constitutional autonomy to Gilgit-Baltistan, effective measures against militancy and 18th, 19th and 20th constitutional amendments were the milestones reached by the present government.
The minister maintained that various developmental schemes worth Rs38 million had been completed in Union Council Agrah which brought about positive change in the lives of the people.
Responding to the demand of the public, he announced construction of Janazgah (place for offering funerals), provision of electric polls and transformers, water hand pumps, and construction of link roads in the locality.
He also announced to provide an amount of Rs0.8 million for playground in Agrah.
