No evidence received from India against JuD chief: FO

ISLAMABAD: Indian Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna has claimed that all evidence related to Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) leader Hafiz Saeed has been handed over to Pakistani authorities.

Speaking to media representatives on Friday, Krishna said that not only has India brought up the Hafiz Saeed issue during talks with Pakistan authorities, it has also supplied them evidence against the alleged mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

“Through various dossiers, the Home Minister of India has provided to Pakistan concrete evidence against Hafiz seed for his role in the planning and execution of 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai. No denial on their part can exonerate them,” ZeeNews quoted Krishna as saying.

The Pakistani Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit on Friday, however, rejected Krishna’s claims, saying that action would have been taken against the JuD leader if any concrete evidence was provided to Pakistani authorities.

The US on Monday slapped a $10 million bounty on the founder of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), the banned organisation accused of masterminding the 2008 attacks in Mumbai.
