In a nation where women often need male permission to leave the home, getting help for drug addiction is a serious problem. Officials at the Nejat Centre, a UN-funded  drug rehabilitation centre in the old quarter of Kabul, believe there are about 60, 000 female users of illegal drugs including marijuana.
