India to host first Made-in-Pakistan Expo this month

KARACHI: The first edition of Lifestyle Pakistan, Made-in-Pakistan single country exhibition, will be held in New Delhi from April 12-15, 2012.

Expo will be reciprocation of the Made-in-India exhibition held in Lahore in February 2012.

Sidra Iqbal, spokesperson for Lifestyle Pakistan said planned with support of Indian Commerce Ministry. Trade Development Authority of Pakistan TDAP it is set to showcase best of Pakistani fashion, textiles, accessories, home furnishings, other items at over 300 stalls.

The four-day exposition is set to attract well over 30,000 individuals per day from Indian trade industry and international buyers. Sidra said top 100 Pakistani firms are participating in the event. Ace Pakistani fashion designers Deepak Perwani, Kamiar Rokni, Faiza Samee, Maheen Khan, Rizwan Beyg, Maria B and Nilofer Shahid will also participate.

Pakistani companies dealing in textiles, home textiles, readymade garments, sportswear, handicrafts will display their products at Expo. These include companies Orient Textiles, Nishat Mills Ltd., Gul Ahmed Textiles (Pvt) Ltd., Bonanza Garments, AlKaram Textile Mills (Pvt) Ltd., Junaid Jamshed, Khaadi, Chen One, Eden Robe and Ensemble (Pvt) Ltd.

Lifestyle Pakistan will offer an opening for Pakistani products to enter one of the world's largest consumer markets. The object of exhibition is not only to introduce high quality Pakistani products infused with rich culture to Indian business community and people at large, but also provide top Pakistani officials with a platform to meet Indian authorities and discuss trade-related issues.

In pursuit of enhancement of trade relations between the two countries, TDAP is also arranging a business delegation to be part of Lifestyle Pakistan exhibition, where entrepreneurs will get opportunity to consolidate their business contacts.
