KOHAT, March 31: At least 1,600 telephones went dead and DSL service was suspended to the whole Kohat city following cutting of a cable at the under-construction Kohat bypass road.

The telephones went dead after heavy machinery working at the road caused extensive damage to telephone cable disrupting service to the city and some areas on Bannu road.

The divisional engineer office when contacted confirmed that the cable had been damaged during excavation work on the road in Jarwanda and the engineers were trying their best to restore the snapped cable.—Correspondent
