KARACHI, Dec 4: Six ships carrying containers, general cargo and DAP fertilizer are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was relatively slow where only three ships, Isola Rossa, Endeavour-11 and Iona to offload high speed diesel, crude oil and soyabean oil were berthed after the departure of as many.
The ships, which departed included Al-Maqwa, Good Hope and Chitral, while Endeavour-11, Isola Rossa, Sea Link, Victoria and APL Cairo are due to sail out on Thursday.
Berthing occupancy was maintained on the higher side at 100 and 70 per cent respectively both at the oil piers and the dry berths.
Owing to larger handling of the liquid cargo, the total tonnage again rose to 0.126m tons comprising 27,923 tons of export tonnage including 5,081 tons of rice and 98,174 tons of import cargo.
The following ships are due on Thursday: Sorena, with crude oil, Clement, with furnace oil, Hawk, with DAP fertilizer, BBC Chile, Bolan, with general cargo and Mar Challenger, with containers.
The following ships are due on Friday: PONL Everst, Kota Tegap, and Wan Hai-302, with containers.
The following ships are due on Saturday: Johar with crude oil, Sima Bahar, Izumo, with containers, Bunga Kenari and Kota Indah, also with containers.
KARACHI, Dec 4: Two ships carrying furnace oil and chemicals were berthed at Fotco Oil Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, two more ships carrying edible oil and containers also arrived at the outer anchorage.
Berth occupancy stayed on higher side as seven ships, Atlantic Cavalier, Safmarine Victory, Panama Strength, New Toyokaze, Camaro Pride, Sea Power and Sea Mangolia were busy in loading/discharging fertilizer, containers and wheat, edible oil, furnace oil, chemicals and iron ore respectively.
A cargo volume of 39,924 tons comprising 31,753 tons of import and 8,171 tons of export tonnage, inclusive of cargo carried in 676 containers (Teus) was handled.
