SAO PAULO, March 10: International Olympic Committee (IOC) officials are leaving Rio de Janeiro satisfied with the city’s preparations for the 2016 Olympics, although they warned organizers not to waste time.

The visit ended on Friday after a series of meetings to check on the progress made by local organisers and city officials.

The IOC said everything was working as planned, but that organizers still face a tough task to make sure they don’t fall behind schedule.—AP
