Government accepts NBP chairman's resignation

KARACHI: Federal government has accepted the resignation of chairman National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) board of directors Syed Ali Raza with an immediate effect, said an announcement here on Wednesday.

On January 14, 2011, the Supreme Court had ordered immediate sacking of Mr Ali Raza from the post because he was then on an extension as the bank’s president for the fifth time.
