PESHAWAR, Feb 28: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to expand the Bacha Khan International Airport and acquire land for it from the federal government through the defence ministry.
It also decided to convene a meeting of all stakeholders for advice on the matter for the federal government’s consideration and consent.
The decisions were made during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti here on Tuesday.
Participants urged the relevant authorities to take practical steps for the airport’s expansion and development, and ensure availability of facilities there.
The chief minister said Bacha Khan International Airport would assume importance in the region after improvement in peace and stability.—Bureau Report
