TIMERGARA, Feb 22: Differences have cropped up in the district chapter of Awami National Party as hundreds of dissident workers have demanded reorganisation of the party.

The dissident workers broke their long silence during a meeting held at the hujra of Qazi Azizul Haq with former MPA Haji Bahadar Khan in the chair, said a press release issued here on Wednesday.

The participants of the meeting termed the present setup of ANP in the district illegal and against the constitution of the party.

Hundreds of ANP dissidents attended the meeting, which was addressed by Haji Bahadar Khan, Qazi Azizul Haq, Shah Murad Khan, Akhtar Munir, Sher Alam, Nadar Khan, Amir Zada and Kotay Haji.

They alleged that most of the workers were kept in the dark about the reorganisation of the party. They demanded of the party leadership to review the district organisation and hold fresh polls to elect new office-bearers.

The speakers complained that funds of Provincial Minister Haji Hidayatullah and Senator Zahid Khan were being utilised by a few persons, ignoring genuine workers of the party.

“Diehard workers are being ignored. They are forced to quit the party,” Haji Bahadar said, adding that workers would be free to decide about their future if their grievances were not removed.

MINISTER: Provincial Minister for Livestock and Dairy Development Haji Hidayatullah has said that uplift projects worth millions of rupees have been completed in PK-95 constituency of Jandol.

Addressing a public meeting during his visit to his constituency the other day, he said that Pukhtun knew that only ANP was striving hard to get rights for them. He claimed that he had never compromised on standard of uplift work in his constituency.

Former district nazim Inayatulah, ANP Jandol president Abdul Wahid and notables of the area besides party workers attended the meeting.

The minister challenged his detractors to bring proofs instead of levelling baseless charges of corruption against him. He said that local communities were asked to monitor all the ongoing projects in the area.

On the occasion, several workers of different political parties announced to quit their parties and join ANP.
