KARACHI, Feb 20: The Subh-e-Nau National Tennis Championship commenced here at the City Sports Complex tennis courts on Monday with the qualifying rounds for the men’s singles.

On the first day, Abdullah Khan, Fahad Mahmood, Faiq Azam, Hassan Mahmood, M. Bilal Ahmed and Khaliq-uz-Zaman won their matches after beating their respective opponents. Asad Abdul Shakoor was unlucky that he lost his match after winning the first set against Mohammad Bilal.

In another match, Khaliq-uz-Zaman also fought well after conceding first four points of first set against his opponent Ayaz Khan to win the match.

More qualifying matches of the men’s singles, the main round matches and boys U-18 and U-14 will start from Tuesday.
