RAWALPINDI, Feb 14: A woman was maltreated by her former in-laws when she went to meet her children living with their father in Tench Bhatta.

Shaista Khanum told police that her former sister-in-law threw acid on her while her father-in-law dragged her by the hair. Ms Shaista, a mother of five, had separated from her husband and was residing in Islamabad with her two daughters.

Police said the injured victim was shifted to hospital where she is stated to be in stable condition while her former father-in-law and sister-in-law have been booked. — Staff Reporter
