Police barber who prepared 27,000 bogus arm licences

LAHORE, Feb 13: The Anti-Corruption Establishment has arrested a barber posted at Nankana Sahib police lines for his involvement in preparing 27,000 bogus arm licences and constituted a team to further probe into the matter.

The team comprises district coordination officer, district police office, ACE deputy director (Investigation) and circle officer concerned.

According to a handout, the scam was revealed when the DCO sent a reference to ACE authorities, saying Molvi Jamal Din, a barber posted at police lines, prepared as many as 27,000 bogus arm licences with the connivance of Aslam Gujjar, clerk in his office, and gave the same to various people.

On receiving the reference, ACE Lahore region Director Ijaz Ahmad directed the officials concerned to take a prompt action against the both accused.

Accordingly, the barber was arrested while Aslam Gujjar was granted an interim bail by a court.
