Revision of oath

Published February 11, 2012

THIS is apropos of the news item, ‘Minor dies of drip reaction’ (Feb 6). The story details the outgoing practices of doctors in small clinics and hospitals. This is one of the stories among several that depicted the medical profession as being treated with great negligence.

The story also showcased the point that if security personnel and health professionals are not meant for saving people’s lives, then who should Pakistanis seek for help?

Stories of police violence and injustice were not new for civilians, but now doctors are also characterised in the same category.

No proper action has been taken for cross-checking such organisations and people who cheat the people. People belonging to low classes can’t afford expensive doctors.

The government and health authorities concerned should have some sort of legal procedure to ensure quality treatment.
