SINCE I have completed my bachelor’s from outside Karachi, I contacted Karachi University to know requirements for students of external boards.
I was informed that I would be required to provide a migration certificate, as well as the Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC).
I asked them about my eligibility when I am not a permanent resident of Karachi as I belong to Dadu.
They told me that I needed to provide the PRC which I could obtain from the DCO office near the Civic Centre, Karachi.
They also told me that this PRC would be prepared for the purpose of admission and on a temporary basis.
I went to the DCO office in Karachi and informed them about this temporary PRC for the purpose of admission.
They laughed at me and said that no such kind of temporary PRC existed. When I was leaving the DCO office, one of the agents contacted me and asked me about my problem. I plainly told him my problem.
He said he would make an original domicile and Permanent Residence Certificate of Karachi in my name but for a price. Since I did not want to make any fake domicile, I declined to seek his help.
I would request the authorities concerned to guide me and several other candidates, having domicile of interior of Sindh, about the possibility of admission to Karachi University.
