India frees five prisoners

LAHORE, Feb 10: The Indian government released on Friday five Pakistani prisoners and handed them over to the Pakistan Rangers on the Wagah boarder, Rangers sources said.

The prisoners were arrested for crossing into Indian side inadvertently. Edhi Foundation officials provided them food, cold drinks, juices and biscuits on the Wagah border.

Later, the Rangers handed over four of them to the Edhi Foundation to be shifted to Edhi Home Gulberg. They are Muhammad Iqbal, 50, of Faisalabad; Muhammad Juman, 50, of Karachi; Noor Alam, 51, Tharparkar, and Ramesh, 22, of Sanghar.—APP
