Robbers and drug pushers arrested

LAHORE, Feb 9: Samanabad and Sanda police claim to have arrested four members of a robbers’ gang and as many drug peddlers and seized looted items and narcotics from their possession.According to a handout issued on Thursday, a police team constituted by Iqbal Town SP (Operation) Abdul Ghaffar Qaisarani raided a locality in Samanabad and took Ashraf alias Achhu and his accomplices Adnan, Sami alias Sunny and Abdul Ghafoor and recovered cash, three cell phones, two motorcycles, as many rickshaws and illegal weapons from them.

The suspects, who used to loot cash and valuables during house robberies and street crime, confessed to committing more than 19 incidents in different parts of the city.

Another team of Sanda police took drug peddler Baghi Khan and his three accomplices -- Bilal, Liaqat and Khanzada -- and recovered from them 4.4kg hashish and three cell phones.

The accused used to supply narcotics on order in different parts of the city. The suspects have been handed over to the investigation wing for further investigation.
