LAHORE, Feb 3: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has protested what he says discriminate treatment of the province in terms of power supply.
In a communique sent to Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Sharif complained that unlike other federating units Punjab was facing six to 18-hour power loadshedding a day, reports a TV channel.Demanding fair distribution of the electricity load to all provinces, he said industries in Punjab were closing down for a want of power, while other federating units were being given concessions in loadshedding schedule.
He said work on the LNG terminal was being delayed for the last four years and called for initiation of work on the Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline on a war footing.
