KARACHI: Sunni Tehreek (ST), has announced that it will launch its political movement by the name of Pakistan Sunni Tehreek (PST), and its first public meeting will be organised at Minar-e-Pakistan Lahore on March 23. The ST will contest the next general election by the name of PST.

This was announced by Chief of ST Muhammad Sarwat Ejaz Qadri while addressing “Pakistan Bachao Jan Nisaran-e-Mustafa Conference” organised by his party at Nishter Park in Karachi on Sunday.

He said Sunni Tehreek will soon make important announcements in its political public meeting and notables would also join his party.

Qadri said his party has always raised voice against all problems which are being confronted by the people whether it is inflation, terrorism or loadshedding.

He said we are thankful to President Asif Ali Zardari for announcing the establishment of a Sunni Board which would be founded soon    to look after the affairs of shrines.

Sarwat Ejaz Qadri said the struggle of his party for the betterment of Pakistan will continue.

He said Pakistan Islam Students Federation (PISF), of ST has also opened its units in universities and colleges.

Amir Jammat Ahl-e-Sunnat Pakistan, Allama Shah Turab- ul- Haq Qadri, Chief of Nizam-e- Mustafa Party, Haji Hanif Tayyab, leader of JUP, Shabbir Abu Talib, and prominent ulema including Allama Rehan Ahmed Amjadi, Tariq Mehbob, Mufti Abid Mubarak and    Allama Mufti Inayat- ur- Rehman Hazarvi also spoke.

They said Rabi-ul-Awwal 11 and 12 should be declared as public holidays across the country.

They also called for arresting the culprits who were involved in the tragedy of Nishter Park bomb blast on April 11, 2006, in the main programme of Jashan-e-Eid Milad un Nabi (peace be upon him) on Rabi-ul- Awwal 12 of that year.

They said the ulema had rendered sacrifices and also embraced martyrdom in Pakistan Movement and they are also giving sacrifices to protect the country.
