PESHAWAR, Jan 25: Seven people, including four children, were killed and two injured as a gas explosion damaged two houses in Shah Qabool Street of Peshawar city Wednesday morning.
According to police, Nazar Mohammad’s family left the burner on the stove in a room turned on due to chilly weather before going to sleep. Gas supply was suspended at night and its restoration later on filled the room with gas. And when a woman lit a match, the room exploded damaging the two houses and killing Nazar Mohammad, 45, his wife, 35, four children Attiya Umar, 12, Aiman Umar, 9, Waqar Umar, 8, and Asma Umar, 13, and another woman Maryam, 23.
Irshad Rehman Umar, 29, and Samin Umar, 25, suffered critical burns.
Rescue 1122 personnel pulled the bodies out of debris and shifted the injured to Lady Reading Hospital, where they were admitted to the neurology ward. However, they were stated to be in critical condition. — Bureau Report
