BRUSSELS, Nov 26: The European Union on Tuesday promised to work on a range of mutually important issues with Pakistan’s new civilian government led by Zafarullah Khan Jamali, saying the fight against terrorism would be a top priority.
The EU said in a statement that it “looked forward to closely following the transfer of power to a civilian administration within the time frame foreseen in the Pakistani roadmap to democracy.”
All parties and political forces in Pakistan must work together to “achieve good governance and functioning democratic institutions,” the EU advised.
