ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders on Wednesday underlined the need to forge unity among political forces to ensure supremacy of the Parliament.
In a brief talk with the media after holding a meeting with Chief of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Islamabad, Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah and former minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said that PPP does not want confrontation among national institutions.
Replying to a question, Khursheed Ahmed Shah said that Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani is a unanimously elected prime minister and according to the Constitution he (the prime minister) does not need to take vote of confidence from the National Assembly at the moment.
Commenting on the meeting with Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Raja Pervez Ashraf termed it as a routine meeting.
