LARKANA, Jan 5: Larkana chapter of the Pakistan Medical Association and the Chandka Teachers Association (CTA), took to the streets here on Thursdayin protest against the kidnapping of Dr Abdul Rab Sangi and his driver Wajid Sangi and staged a sit-in at SSP chowk.
Vice president of PMA Sindh, Dr Saeed Memon and General Secretary of PMA Larkana led the procession.
Later Professor Rafia Baloch, head of the department of Gyneacology and Obstetrician, Dr Shahida Shaikh, Dr Shazia Abro and others also joined the sit-in.
To support the protesting doctors, leaders of paramedics, besides lawyers and doctors working with the Peoples Primary Health Initiative (PPHI) also joined them.
They blocked the roads and traffic for more than an hour. They were demanding early and safe release of Dr Abdul Rab Sangi and his driver, who were kidnapped about a month ago during an anti-polio drive in Kothi Kalhora area.
They said doctors fraternity was worried about lives of Dr Sangi and his driver.
