OGRA adjusts CNG prices

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), has adjusted the CNG prices as it will be available now in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Potohar Region at rate of Rs 74.30 per kilogram and in Sindh and Punjab (Excluding Potohar Region) at the rate of Rs 69.62 per kilogram.

In a press release issued here on Friday, it has been stated that the OGRA, in accordance with the ECC decision no. 106/12/2009 dated 28.7.2009 has adjusted the CNG prices for two tier slabs effective from January 1, 2012.

According to this price structure in Region-1, per kilogram CNG will be available at Rs 74.30 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Potohar Region (Rawalpindi, Islamabad & Gujarkhan) 1070 BTU.

Sindh and Punjab (Excluding Potohar Region) @ 950 BTU has been included in Region-2 and CNG will be available at Rs 69.62 per kg.

Adjustment in CNG consumer price has been necessitated owing to Gas Infrastructure Cess by the Federal government and adjustment in natural gas prices advised by the Federal Government. These prices will stay in vogue till any further notification is made.
