LAGOS (Nigeria), Dec 23: Authorities say police in northeast Nigeria fought a running gunbattle with suspected members of a radical Muslim sect.
Yobe state police commissioner Lawan Tanko says the fighting late Thursday night and Friday morning around the state capital, Damaturu, left some people wounded or dead.—AP
