Asma submits Jones’s statement in SC

KARACHI: Pakistan’s former ambassador to the United States Husain Haqqani’s counsel Asma Jahangir submitted a statement from former US national security adviser James Jones to the Supreme Court on Saturday, DawnNews reported.

Jones, in the three-page-long statement, was of the view that the memo was written by Mansoor Ijaz and that Haqqani had no involvement in the affair.

The statement said Ijaz had contacted Jones few days prior to May 9 and had said that he wanted to deliver an important message to Admiral Mike Mullen.

The statement further said that on May 10 Ijaz sent Jones an email on his private email address to which he told Ijaz to convey the message in writing.
