Never lose hope
THIS with reference to the story The race by Elya Tanweer (YW, September 3, 2011). When one has hopes as high as mountains, boundless determination and hard work with honesty, nothing is impossible!
This short story gave an important message to all of us that we should not shy away from challenges but should face them with courage. With this ingredient and complete faith, success will follow our path for sure. So never lose hope!

Your diary, your friend
Enclosing and capturing every single detail of your life in those few pages of your diary is a wonderful experience. Writing a diary is a very healthy habit. When you write in your diary, you simply jot down all those events that filled your day. You note down every true detail because you know you don’t have to present it to anyone. You truly are what you are, in the pages of your diary. Your diary pages reflect your personality. You can judge yourself from the content of your diary.
To unfold and touch your past while remaining in your present is possible just by turning a few pages of your diary and it is one of the most beautiful experiences one can ever have. It feels great to overview your own past by just reading your diary and then commenting on what should have been done and what should have been left undone. You can then try not to repeat your mistakes.
So if you haven’t written a diary before, you should definitely go for it now!

Lack of playgrounds
I play football everyday in a park near my house. Playing football has helped me become more active and healthier. I really enjoy scoring goals and also like to compete with other players in my team.
Unfortunately, there are not many playgrounds in Karachi and therefore, many children find it difficult to play sports.
Therefore, I request the concerned authorities to pay heed to this requirement and build some more playgrounds so that children can get involved in sports.

This week in history
This is regarding the column This week in history. I like to go through it every week as it provides me with useful information. I have read many letters opposing this column but I would say that This week in history is not a useless column, rather it gives us very useful information about which many of us were unaware in the past.

Colours
The world is full of colours. Nobody can even think about this world without colours. Once my teacher said if red colour had been the only colour in the world, people would have gone mad!
Colours give us life. We can never imagine a world that is black and white. Colours give us happiness and a meaning to life.
Colours make this world bright and are a blessing of Almighty Allah. So embrace colours, love colours and you will definitelyfeel a difference in your life.

Seeing the world once again
This is regarding the article Seeing the world once again by Saira Owais Adil (YW, November 26, 2011). As my eyesight is also weak, I found the article quite relevant as well as useful and encouraging.
Surely, a perfect vision is a precious blessing and we should value it. I was also self-conscious when I began to wear glasses but I thought about the long-term benefits of wearing glasses and continued to do so.

Air pollution
Air pollution is one of the biggest problems of the modern world. Air pollution is caused by the smoke emitting from factoriesand vehicles.
Pollution has led to global warming and extreme temperatures throughout the world. Not everything should be left to the government to act upon. We can take some measures by ourselves to at least reduce air pollution i.e., by using fewer vehicles.
This is possible by walking to cover short distances or using vehicles that don’t emit too much smoke.
